Our August meeting was a variation on our usual vineyard trip. Instead we held a private wine tasting event led by Liz Gibson from the Essex Wine School which was held in one of our members homes.
Our theme was 'The Eurovision Wine Contest' . The group tasted wines from France, Italy, Romania, Austria, Portugal and Macedonia.
Our wines were paired with an excellent selection of food brought by group members.
Liz shared her knowledge and passion for wine and we learned so much about wines balance, length, intensity and complexity.
Portugal gained the most votes as the overall winner
A really enjoyable afternoon, one which we plan to revisit.
