Witham and District (Essex)

The French Conversation group, with nine members has been going successfully and enjoyably for some years. After trying out a high street café as a venue we are now meeting at The White Horse pub in Witham. We meet once a month, generally on the fourth Monday of the month and we are now meeting from 2 till 4 p.m. The pub seems quiet at this time. As well as the usual pub drinks, they serve tea and coffee, though nothing fancy.

We are about talking in French to maintain our skills rather than learning, so a reasonable level of fluency is desirable. If we do make mistakes (and I do!), the friendly nature of the group helps you past the problem. Normally we share our news, perhaps have a more general discussion and then for the last part of the session look at an article or story to read and translate.
