Our May walk started in the village of Boreham, a familiar one for the group. 18 members met outside the Queens Head Pub and set off on a beautiful morning.
Our circular walk took us from Boreham along farm tracks, past Brakey Wood eventually leading on to Little Baddow. Once over the bridge we arrived at Papermill Lock where we stopped for a breather and a welcome cuppa at the café and watched the boats go by. Continuing on along the picturesque River Chelmer into rural farmland we headed back to Boreham.
The Queen’s Head is closed on Mondays so after our walk we drove the short distance to the Six Bells Pub where 13 of us enjoyed an excellent lunch and social get-together.
