Mill Green Woodland Walk – October 24

This month’s walk was around ancient woodland and open countryside near Mill Green. The landscape here has changed very little for hundreds of years and was once an early Medieval Royal Hunting Forest. The walk started and finished at Mill Green Common, an ancient grazing plain. It was wet and squelchy in places especially under the trees, and we needed sturdy walking boots. Some of us were lucky to see a stag red deer.
After our walk lunch was at the nearby Viper pub a short drive away. Our thanks to Heather for organising a lovely woodland walk.
