Our March walk was in Hanningfield.
We met at the Giffords Lane car park at Hanningfield Reservoir. The weather was fair and conditions underfoot were good.
Setting out, we walked to the Visitor Centre, stopping for refreshments at the cafe it was worth stopping for a while for the view. Especially the Spotted Woodpecker on the birdfeeder. Hanningfield is renowned for its nationally important populations of wildfowl and the reservoir is a wonderful haven for nature and wildlife.
The walk was three and a half miles, following nature trails around the reservoir, through woodland and along the Wind in the Willows trail. Lots of birdwatching and nature opportunities the bluebells weren't quite out yet.
On our return we had lovely lunch in the Fisherman’s café overlooking the lake, giving us an opportunity to socialise and catch up with each other.
