Boreham to Papermill Lock – Sept 2024

Our September walk started in Boreham village where we met at St Andrews church. It was a beautiful sunny morning for our circular walk which took us from Boreham through Little Baddow and along the picturesque River Chelmer and Blackwater navigation to Papermill Lock. The river stretches 14 miles in total from the centre of Chelmsford to the sea at Heybridge Basin. We stopped at the lock tearooms for a cuppa and sat outside watching the boats and paddleboards go by. Continuing on, into rural farmland we headed back to the Church and on our return we drove the short distance to the Six Bells pub where we enjoyed a good lunch.
