August 2024 - Visit to Blunts Hall garden

U3A Witham Photography Group

On a glorious sunny Friday afternoon the photography group along with some extra guests visited Blunt's Hall in Witham which is a grade II listed building. We were treated to Cream tea/coffee and a slice of cake.
A restored three acre Victorian Garden. Courtyard garden and terrace leading down to lawns with re-instated parterre surrounded by herbaceous borders.
Orchard with new and old fruit trees and a vegetable plot, it also has a listed Ancient Monument.
Blunt's Hall was a settlement in the Doomsday Book.
Alan and Lesley have been working on the garden over many years with the aim of returning it to its Victorian roots.
