For our fourth outing, the newly re-formed Birdwatching Group recently re-visited Abberton Reservoir after our initial visit on 11th May, and was again treated to a wide range of ‘sightings’.
We saw no ‘waders’ on this occasion but large numbers of Gulls, Pochard and Coot.
Interestingly, both the Coot and Pochard had formed very large floating groups, as illustrated in the attached images. (Our thanks to Fred for the pictures.)
My own favourite sighting was of 2 Marsh Harriers which were identified for us by a very helpful bird watcher who also kindly allowed us to view a number of bird species through his telescope.
As previously, many thanks to Jane for her excellent record keeping, with again approximately 20 different species noted during our visit.
